Intentional Living

Recently, I’ve been thinking of ways to be intentional and strategic.  I daily ask God, “How can I fulfill this goal today?” If we simply put our goals on paper, they will be unfulfilled.  The key is to be intentional in fulfilling them.

I could fulfill these goals without seeking God but only His purposes will ultimately stand. Jesus told us that He is the Vine and we are the branches; that apart from Him, the Vine, we can do nothing. Well, we can do something… but what we accomplish may not have eternal substance apart from Him. Living in the kingdom, grafted into Jesus, our desire is to fulfill His purposes, because it is His purposes that will stand the test of time and make a real difference in our world today.

So today I want to challenge you to put on your kingdom lenses and seek to be intentional in fulfilling God’s will. Ask the Holy Spirit to lead, guide and direct you in your day. Ask to see people as God sees them. Give a word of encouragement to someone. Look for opportunities to be a bearer of Good News because frankly there is so much bad news these days. People need Jesus. Why? Because He offers eternal hope. He is not only the Savior but the Redeemer. And when our day goes south… it’s good to have a Redeemer on your side.

Be intentional, friends, to seek the Lord. He stands at the door knocking on your heart. He offers you something the world cannot give you; peace that passes understanding.

And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:7)
