Daydreaming with God

I have been thinking about the value of dreaming with God. God, our Savior is also Creator God, and He created us with unique abilities to be creative. When we dream with God, we are able to find areas in our lives where He is calling us to be creative. Years ago, I remember telling someone that I simply was not creative. Fortunately, the person told me that if I am living and breathing I AM creative because it is the Lord of Creation that breathes His creative life in me.

That was a lot at the time to comprehend, but I remember asking the Lord to show me my unique creative gifts. I cannot sing, compose music, draw, paint and the list goes on. One day I sat quietly before the Lord and waited, thinking about all of this, and I jotted down my thoughts. In the process of doing this, I recognized how much I love to put my thoughts down on paper. From there, I began to write about things that mattered to me, and that was almost always about my Christian faith.

Friends, when you draw near to God, He draws near to you. (James 4:8). He inhabits and dwells within the life of the believer and releases His creative power within us to display His glory. And we were made to glorify God!

In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. (Matthew 5:16).

Our good deeds cover a lot of territory, but I would suggest to you that our good deeds can be bring our creative gifts as an offering to God and as a blessing to others.

In the book of Joshua, Joshua watched Moses as an understudy. When Moses died, Joshua was raised into the leadership position to lead the Israelites into the Promised Land. He told the people to get ready and prepare to enter. As we enter into the promises of God in His Word, our hearts must be prepared to go. Our hearts must be willing to yield to our Creator and be used in any way He sees fit. God will prepare and equip you to walk fully in His creative gifts. Together, the body of Christ is able to bring glory to a world in great need of Him.

He makes the whole body fit together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love. (Ephesians 4:16 NLT).
