Entering a New Season With God
The end of summer can bring mixed emotions, but it can also prepare us for entering a new season with God, carrying forward what He has taught us while remaining open to what He will do next.
I hear so many people saying that they are sad to see summer coming to an end. Parents of school age children are usually happy to get their kids back to school, but even some of them say that the end of summer brings challenges of structure, early rising, and its own set of stresses.
I, for one, am always sad when summer ends.
The freedom I feel with less structure.
The bright, sunny days.
I even like the hot days.
My heart feels lighter, and my schedule is lighter too.
God Brings Us Into a New Season
But God…
He ends one season in order to bring us into another season.
For those of you who follow my blog or teachings, you have probably noticed that I constantly talk about entering into new seasons. I sense that the body of Christ is awakening to a new call, a fresh anointing, and a new perspective.
Even for me, an avowed summer lover, I am ready for the summer season to end and the fall to begin. I am ready for this awakening. Something is stirring in my heart that speaks of new beginnings.
Carrying Lessons Into the Next Season
When we leave a season, we take with us the lessons learned, the people we encountered, and the joys and hardships of the past season. Bringing these experiences with us enhances the new season on which we are embarking.
Entering a new season with God does not mean forgetting what came before. It means allowing Him to use the lessons and experiences of the past as He leads us forward.
As we journey with Christ, each day we are learning to be a light to the world. We do not have to be a superstar to light up our homes, workplaces, schools, etc. We simply need to shine by taking the past, living in the present, and looking forward to our future.
Jesus was clear that our call is to love Him with all of our hearts and love our neighbor as ourselves.
“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”

Awaken to God’s Call
Sisters, we must first be awakened to our call. We must remember to grab the good from our past season and bring it into the present season. And those things that were not as good… hand them over to Jesus. His arms are open.
As you begin entering a new season with God, trust that He will use what you have experienced, awaken you to His call, and lead you into what comes next.
