Faith Proved Genuine

Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.

Hebrews 11:1

Hebrews 11, the great chapter of faith, describes the men and women of God who were commended for their faith in the “unseen.” When we place our trust in God’s promises, we are also rewarded. (v. 6) When my daughter went through her rebellious years, I remember clinging to God’s promises that He would be with her, that He would strengthen her, and that one day,

He would use her in a mighty way. He has been true to His promise! At the time, all I saw were the problems but God’s promise grew in my heart; what was not a present reality became a reality in my heart. I urge you to cling to God’s promises and let them be the benchmark of your life. Let Jesus Christ assure you that the certainty of His resurrection will grow in your heart, just as certainly as His promises will prevail!! Though you have not seen Him, you love Him; and even though you do not see Him now, you believe in Him and are filled with inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls.( I Peter 1:8-9)

Heavenly Father,

Thank you for the assurance of what I hope for through faith. Thank you, Lord, that You alone are faithful to fulfill Your promises and purposes. Help me to cling to You in the tough times and to hold to the promises of Your Word. Fill me with “inexpressible joy,” knowing that in all things You prevail.

In Jesus’ name, Amen
