Video Blog – Superwoman Syndrome

Today I want to share with you a video that I think is a very pertinent message for women today. Do you ever feel like you have to be “superwoman”? Women have a tendency to overcommit because we are great at multitasking; able to juggle many balls. But just because we are able does not mean we should. It takes a toll on us. Jesus’ words, “Seek my kingdom first” are the answer— then all of these other things can be added.

I talk about this overloaded, overcommitted lifestyle a lot in my latest book, Tell Your Heart to Beat Again, which is officially launching this coming Monday, January 9th.  The book is about unloading our over-committed lives – there’s even a chapter on decluttering our lives and another one on recognizing and releasing stress.

Much like a baked potato, we’ve become overloaded with a bunch of extra ingredients. However, we need our hearts to beat again with the joy of living in Christ and for Christ. When we make Him our first priority— to love Him with our whole heart –  our lives take on a new order, a freshness, and purpose. He will direct our days and lead us to the still waters.
